The Greatest Kanye West Rant of All Time

Kanye West is one of the greatest revolutionaries in the last 100 year. Some may take this a disrespectful to those who paved the way, but the God's honest truth is the road ain't paved. Lets just get one thing straight Kanye West doesn't go on rants. Rants are foolish and there is nothing foolish about what he's saying. Kanye West has recently been on a media frenzy over the last couple of months, the biggest two being his infamous interview with BBC's Zane Lowe and his most recent interview with Power 105's The Breakfast Club. While, Zane Lowe interview was brilliant for the fact that he not only understood Yeezus, but he just let Ye' talk; The Breakfast Club was great because they asked the hard questions. However, they still didn't connect with him. Charlamagne Tha God, who is a very intelligent man and contemporary genius in his own right sounded so obtuse, thickheaded, and lost by Kanye's remarks. Charlamagne could not understand the message Kanye was trying to relay. It's not about money its not aout material things it about changing the way this world operates. Charlamange wants Ye' to get back to making great music. Yeezus was ten tracks of straight fire. It was a modern day Slim Shady LP with all of the anger and frustration of a modern day black man, and better production to boot. Kanye was criticized for trying to reach the people at the top with his revolutionary movement, instead of a more grass roots approach. Well, what do you call College Dropout, what do you call Late Registration, what do you call Gaduation, what do you call 808's And Heartbreaks, what do you call My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, what do you call Watch The Throne, and what do you call Yeezus. That was grass roots. That was rallying the people. Kanye West has been the most popular musician of the last decade all while being thw biggest political activist. Besides the underground artists like Immortal Technique, what artist talks about more social issues and injustices than Kanye West. Charlamagne Tha God told Ye' that Malcolm X never had money Martin Luther King never had money, and Kanye didn't need money to change the world. Truth is we are not getting lynched out in public anymore or sprayed with the fire hose, but we are worse off than we were fifty years ago as black people. They don't have to kill us they have us so enslaved now, that we do it for them, and if we don't kill each other they put us in jail. The United States makes up less than five percent of the worlds population and over twenty-five percent of the world's prison population (75% of them being black). Good clothes and sneakers do need to be made more affordable. We all need clean water. You can't even go to the store and buy organic food for your children without spending an arm and a leg. The only way to give your children a good education is to move to a affluent suburb or pay for privet school. You know what Marcus Garvey, Huey Newton, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King all have in common, they all died without seeing their dreams come to fruition. Kanye should only be applauded for his efforts to not let that happen to him. Yes we have a black president, but that is only one out of forty-four. And who believes we gonna live to see another one. Like Ye' said, there are only fourteen black billionaires out of 1400. On top of that out of all the Fortune 500 companies only six black CEOs. We can't change the world if we are not in control. We need those black billionaires to make changes that last forever You can't change things from the outside looking in. We have to break down these social walls. Kanye West is a genius, I;m a Genius, Charlamagne Tha God is a Genius, but i say we need to take things a step further Kanye. Fuck Steve Jobs, Fuck Devid Stern, Fuck Michael Angelo, we need to strive to be De' Medici families, we need to strive to be the Rothschild's, we need be like the Vanderbilt's, and the Rockefeller's. We need to right history. What does this have to do with hip hop? Everything! This is hip hop. Jay Z peformed at the Inaugural Ball in 2008. Beyonce performed at the Inauguration this year. Drake will be palyed when we make to the top. J. Cole and  Kendrick Lamar will be blasted through the speakers as the lower class revolution takes way. Marcus Garvey is hip hop, Malcolm X is hip hop, Obama is hip hop, we are hip hop, and once we breakdown that brick wall the world will be hip hop. That's what Kanye West is trying to do, and while everyone may not agree with his tactics, we should all respect his movement. Everybody say they love Kanye, but nobody wanna be Team Ye'

P.S. Watch this shit.

Is Wu-Tang Forever?

"Wu-Tang is forever. I'll never take back that statement" says RZA during a recent interview with the Associated Press. This could not be any closer to the truth. All eight remaining members, as well as Cappadonna, could go meet Dirt McGirt in the heavens right now, and their legacy would outlast the sun. The Wu-Tang Clan are the epitome of Masters Of Ceremonies, and according to RZA the these MC's will finish their sixth album by January. RZA has always been the leader and master mind behind the group and its movement, so naturally he has been involved with the process from start to finish. Also, he goes on to mention that Method Man has been an intricate part of the process already laying down eight or nine tracks. Cappadonna will be on it, Ghost has contributed to twenty percent of the album, and U-God's presence will be felt. RZA went on to state that Masta Killa and Inspectah Deck have been present during the making, but Raekwon has yet to lay down a verse. And From the tone of Rae on twitter i doubt he will. When asked about Raekwon, or lack there of on the album, RZA said "That's something that I would take a vote on with the rest of the crew," RZA says. "I'm not a dictator about that. Raekwon is a valuable energy to the Wu-Tang, his voice, his lyrics, his approach. Rae is a master lyricist." However, most shocking to me, was the lack of mention when it comes to the GZA. If RZA is The God The Father, GZA is The Holy Spirit. I'm not sure if absence of his name was intentional, or simply due to the fact that the GZA being on a Wu-Tang album needs no mention. Either way every last member is a straight lyricist, so it's bound to be a great hip hop album, regardless of any absence. Just take The W for example, they completed that without Ol' Dirty Bastard during his incarceration. No matter what, be it Raekwon, GZA, ODB, or any member's absenteeism, they will be greatly missed by all.

P.S. For those who just come to the site for music, here is Chris Brown's new EP X-Files and Trae Tha Truth's mixtape I Am King, along with the link to some other songs. As well asa recent interview with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Enjoy!

Nas Says Hip Hop Is Lost, We Say It Has Been Found

In a recent interview with NBC's Talk Stoop host Cat Greenleaf, Nas talked about how hip hop is lost. He goes on to say that hip hop has lost its integrity, its realness, and its over all meaning. While Nas does make a point, when u think of all the rappers who have no integrity (Riff Raff, Trinidad James, Lil B etc). He's not wrong when it comes to rapper lack of realness (Rick Ross, 2 Chains, Rich Homie Quan etc). And when it comes to some artists, I am still appalled by the amount of success coupled with the obvious absence of meaning (Migos, French Montana, Chief Keef etc). I know that all may seem like hip hop is lost to some, but in reality, all of which was previously mentioned was not real hip hop. People need to understand that these artist don't love hip hop they love the money. Although if that is how they choose to feed their family, more power to them, but let be serious they could care less about the state of hip hop. However, since the dawn of hip hop they have tried to commercialize it and steal it for their own personal gain. The foolery we see today is no different than Paula Abdul, Vanilla Ice, and The Chicago Bears trying to rap. Now, enough about hip hop being lost, it has been found in the copious amount of great music that has been given to the public over the last few years. Just a few weeks ago another great Eminem dropped The Marshall Mathers LP II. We all know Em' is one of the top five greatest MC's of all time and MMLP2 might just be his best album to date. It is literally 100 plus minutes of straight hip hop. Along, with Eminem's raw lyrics he has some great melodies and a versatile approach when it comes to his flow, everything that hip hop should be. So Nas, I realize the bad has outweighed the good for so long, but the balance of scales is beginning to tip. Maybe, if we were able to listen to a new Nas album before the end of next year hip hop would be alive and well in everyone's eyes. Just something to think about.

P.S.here goes the full interview of Nas on Talk Stoop and the full interview of Eminem sitting down with Zane on BBC radio, along with a link to download the MMLP2 and some other songs. Enjoy!

Trinidad James NY Comments Good For Hip Hop?

Trinidad James embodies everything that is wrong in hip hop. We all know you don't have to be lyrical to be a successful artist, but the man is just awful. I'm not knocking his obvious talent to create catchy ass hooks, however ratchet and ignorant they might be. But, Trinidad James himself admits he just started rapping in February of 2012. Anyone in this industry, let alone any rapper knows it takes years to not only to pay your dues but to perfect your craft and find your sound. The worst part about him is that he is an intelligent young black man that could do a lot of good for hip hop if he tried. I know there are those who say im hating and that Trinidad James portrays this extremely ghetto ignorant character as a joke, thinking that no one will take him seriously. However, that couldn't be father from the truth. Kendrick Lamar is a perfect example of an artist making fun of the streets, by rapping about them, while at the same time discouraging the populace. Trinidad James is the antithesis of Kendrick Lamar. Face it Trinidad James just wont last. However, his recent comments made in New York City regarding the south running New York music and most New York artists sounding like the south has set the hip hop world a blaze. I mean, even Hell Rell dusted off his shoes and got in the ring, creating a diss track featuring Katt Williams. These comments coupled with the lack of remorse and utterly unauthentic approach to the whole situation has literally black balled him from New York city. The exile isn't just physical, DJ Envy of Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club has went on record to say that he will no longer be playing anymore Trinidad James tracks. If this ripple affect can gain enough momentum to cyclone Trinidad James career down the drain, while simultaneously addressing the issue which was not far from the truth, (NY rap is a shell of what it use to be due to commercialism and imitation of the one hit wonders of the south) then maybe New York lyricism will emerge once again. I mean seriously French Montana titles his mixtapes macaroni and cheese or some dumb shit like that, and hoever popular the ASAP Mob is they just flat out can't rap. The only New York rappers who put out quality music, are the same ones who have been doing it for years (Jay Z, Fabolous, Styles P, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes etc etc). Hopefully New York takes this as a wake up call. They already let Kendrick get away with murder. Now its not just time for NY artists to step up but NY DJ s as well. Hip hop is going in a good direction right now, and with New York, the Mecca of rap, steering the wheel it's liable to go to a place none of us ever dreamed.

P.S. I'm not hating on the south and to show y'all here is a link to Slim Thug's new album Boss Life. Also, you will find a special treat you guys get for making it to the end of the blog. It is a video by the amazing D'Vina. To say this girl is talented would be an understatement. She has the most beautiful voice out of anyone I have ever met, and on top of all that she is very easy on the eyes so take a minute and check out her new video Far Away featuring Dave Watson

The Return Of Dark Man X

The Legendary DMX is making a comeback album! Now, I know what your thinking. Hasn't he tried this before? Back in January of 2012 X tried to make a comeback with his album titled Undisputed, to no avail. This time however, it is different. Swizz Beats will be executive producing the album. Although Swizzy has been a producer on all seven of X's albums, but he hasn't had this much influence since the classics Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood & ...And Then There Was X albums dropped in 98' & 99' (each going 3x and 5x platinum respectively). And, in a recent interview with Sway on RapFix Live Swizz Beats went on to say "Everything is DMX for me right now. It’s my main focus because it’s what started everything. So, if I don’t focus on that, then it’s just not right. He’s been going through a lot of different things but … he’s DMX! He’s good; he’s in good vibes. But wait until y’all hear this music though — y’all gon’ really know how he is. We working hard on that and I can’t wait. I can’t wait." Now I know every one has heard of DMX but most of these 90's babies only know the recent train wreck, which is X. As for the rest of us, we know exactly what he's capable of (the best). I know all of the critics are saying he's strung out and washed up, but most fail to remember that X has been strung out since Party Up (Up In Here). Not to mention, X gave us a little taste of the old him when he and Busta Rhymes dropped the Niggas In Paris remix. Another little tidbit, for you hip hop heads and those that may think DMX will produce another flop, Swizzy also went on to say that he is ten songs deep into the LOX album. Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch are all great artists in there own right but when put together they are beyond legendary and I'm sure we will all be on the edge of our seats waiting for their return.
PS. For reading the entire blog here is a little treat. I'm not a huge fan but the man can spit and for those who are here is a link to Yo Gotti's I AM album that drops tomorrow. And a sixteen second clip of Rihanna Twerking

The Current State of Hip-Hop

The current state of hip hop is alive and well.  I believe Charlamagne Tha God even went as far as to say "we are in a new golden age of hip hop."  And honestly he couldn't be closer to the truth. It's hard to believe that just this year we had albums from J. Cole, Wale, Kanye West, Jay Z, Drake, and Eminem (with Pusha T even hitting #4 on billboards 200). Hip Hop hasn't seen music of this caliber since 2003 with when Jay Z, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Dmx, and Outcast all dropped number one albums in the same year.  And let us not forget Kendrick Lamar's classic album, which dropped in the fourth quarter of last year.  Also, we've seen lyricism from the street MC's with Slaughterhouse and Meek Mill both dropping sold albums.  Not to mention, the underground artist that have been giving us some of the best lyrics the over the last few years, like  Big K.R.I.T., Chance The Rapper, TuT, Add-2, and TDE's Ab-Soul.  It's Safe to say that quality music in hip hop is once again being revered.

Now, with all that said, we still have a long way to go.  You can't turn on the radio without wanting to blow your brains, to keep your ears from the contaminating sounds of Trinidad James, Rich Homie Quan, French Montana, and Migos.  And God forbid you go on the Internet and come across the atrocious sounds of Riff Raff or Lil B, it's safe to say the world would be a much better place if they never hear any of these "artists" again.  There truly is a special place in hell for "rappers" such as these.  Lets just hope and pray they are the last of a dying breed. With all that being said, I'd like to end my first blog on an positive not.  Here is some hip hop in its purest form, with the melodic sampling of Method man, it is TuT with a freestyle over Drake and Jay Z's PoundCake.
