10 Years Of Kanye West

For the last decade Kanye West has been one of the most influential voices of our generation. Say what you will about his personal life, Kanye not only makes some of the best music to listen to; he also makes the most politically active and thought provoking music of any of his peers. Ye' recently took to Twitter to reflect on the tenth anniversary of the release on his debut album "College Dropout". Yeezy gave insite to the importance of the album and his struggles releasing College Dropout, as well as one of his personal achievements from the album. Kanye West has been spouting out opinions and proclamations to anyone in ear shot for over 10 years and a rare interview surfaces to give a deeper insight to who Kanye West was prior to his fame. In a 2002 interview with former Mass Appeal writer Noah Callahan-Bever, Kanye West speaks on what he originally was going to originally going to title College Dropout. Kanye has said in numerous interviews and on College Dropout first single “Through The Wire” that the car accident changed his view on how he makes music, however he still had the same idea of what the album would be and even had a different title originally: That’s exactly what I want people to think with that title: “I’m right there with you.” I’ve thought about calling my sh*t I’m Good, because that’s a “cool” title, like just having a title that’s like, “Yo, you can’t criticize that.” But for me to try and put on the facade of being the coolest motherfucker ever, it’s not going to come across like that. I’m not saying I’m the coolest motherfucker ever, I’m just saying I’m just a fucking smart-a*s. I got to put it in raps.”
