Rick Ross: "The One Thing I Want To Do That I Have Never Done Is Go Platinum"

Rick Ross' debut album Port Of Miami, is only 20,000 units from going platinum. However, when Ross sat down with DJ Skee the other day, one thing he said he wants to knock off his bucket list, is to go platinum right away. "You just executing that platinum album out the gate. You know, six gold albums. You know, really my first album, I believe they say is 20,000 albums from being certified platinum. But, you know, it just came after the time. In that moment, I want to execute one of those joints." Ross does have the most number one albums of any rapper since he broke through in 2006, but then again he has put out the most albums out of all his peers. The reason Ross hasn't been able to go platinum is he lacks authenticity. The reason Jay, Em', Ye', Drake and even T.I. consistently go platinum , is because of their authenticity. They are all exactly who they say they are in every track, and when they grace us with an interview they do nothing but confirm that. Ross has a great sound but no one believes the twelve million dollar drug references and ninety-two million dollars in his bank account. And, in every interview he does you, he never gives you his real self, just a bunch o euphemisms. If we were to see and here more about William Roberts, with a little bite of Ricky Rozay on the track, Ross could easily be one of the greats of all time no matter what he sells. The truth is, we Ross had a chance to go platinum Mastermind. He had been making great music, and even had us hip-hop heads anxious for the release. But, once again He delivered a descent album, that lacked authenticity. With Ross' talent, he's sure to have the public on the edge of their seats for his next project, and hopefully his next project goes diamond. Here is a clip from the recent DJ Skee interview.
