He took a long time off from rap, but 50 Cent is finally back. Fif' just keeps building the anticipation for his upcoming album Animal Ambition. His latest move was launching his brand new official website 50cent.com. 50 also released the artwork for Animal Ambition, and announced that he be releasing new music every week, until May 20th. "Hold On' and "Don't Worry 'Bout It" featuring Yo Gotti, will be the first tracks to be released on March 18th (videos for both tracks will be released). Although, the June 3rd release is a long ways away, 50 Cent doesn't seem to be slowing down. On March 17th, he will appear on Sirius XM's "Town Hal" series and have a Q&A session with his fans. MTV's Rob Markman will be moderating the live Q&A. 50 Cent seams to be getting back to his Get Rich, Or Die Trying days. In a recent interview with Vibe, Mr. Jackson says he's drawing inspiration from the legends Rakim and Nas. “When I fell in love with Hip Hop it was more important that you had your own style than you being able to master a version of Rakim or a version of another artist’s style,” said 50. “Nobody does that better than [Rakim]. Even with new content that flow is still his flow.” 50 has publicly expressed he is a fan of Rakim for years. His verse on The Game’s “Hate It or Love It” included the line “My favorite rapper used to sing, ‘Check check out My Melody’” referring to Eric B. and Rakim’s “My Melody.”While 50 and Nas have had their issues in the past, the G-Unit leader also names the fellow Queens emcee as an example of a rapper with his own style. “Nas is [also] one of those guys…he has his own,” adds 50. “Even if some people make comparisons that was just Queensbridge, man. That period for me…Mobb Deep, Prodigy is in his own class in my mind.” A lot of people have been critical of Fif' since his last album Before I Self Destruct, which was his least commercially successful LP. However, it was his rawest album since his debut, and still sold more than any album from nemesis Rick Ross. Even though he's had great commercial success, people forget 50 is one of the most lyrical and descriptive story tellers in the last decade. Here is the video of 50 performing his newest single Hold On.
