Schoolboy had the confidence and the foresight, on his track "Break The Bank", off his album Oxymoron, when he said "Tell Kendrick move from the throne I came for it." Well, the first week number are in, and Q's album Oxymoron is #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Moving 138,517 copies, School is the first member of TDE to drop a number one album. While Kendrick's good kid, m.A.A.d city sold well over 100,000 copies more than Oxymoron, K.Dot was not able to clam the number one spot, due to Taylor Swift selling over 1.2 million the same week. Now, we have been reviewing Oxymoron for the better part of the last two weeks, and while it is a sold album, its not a classic. Schoolboy Q promised us a better album than Kendrick's, and well that's just not the case. Q goes just a little to commercial for the average hip-hop head, and even though he has a few bangers on the album, there's nothing on there that is timeless. All MCs are suppose to be confident, but Q knows his LP isn't better than good kid, m.A.A.d city. Hopefully, for his next project, the material will live up to the hype. Kid Cudi also enters the Top 5 at #4 selling 85,860 copies of his Satellite Flight: Journey To Mother Moon album, down from the 140,000 copies his previous album, Indicud sold in its first week. This is the lowest first week sales total for a Cudi solo album in his 5 year career and worst since his 2012 collaborative album, WZRD with Da Dot Genius sold 66,000 copies in its opening week.
