Hard to believe its been four years since Ab-Soul dropped Longterm 2: Lifestyles of the Broke and Almost Famous. It seems like just yesterday I was bumping the tape in my car (maybe because I was). The Longterm series has really been a timeless group of work, his debut album Longterm Mentality, being the greatest of those works to date. However, Ab Dash Soul took to Twitter the other day, to tell the world Longterm 3 is in the works. Longterm 3 is expected to be about Ab-Soul's new found success and acquisition of money, but with Soul's prophetic flow and high conscious approach, there is sure to be no lack of substance. The Black Hippy MC was unclear about whether or not the LT3 would be released before or after his next LP Black Lip Pastor, which is already completed. Soul has said that even though he is finished making what will be his third LP, he wants to release it in a special way and at the right time. Plus, it only makes sense he release the mixtape before the album, if only to build the hype. Either way, Ab-Soul has yet to but out a product that was not great, and these next two projects are sure to add to the TDE takeover, which has been underway since the start of the year.
