It seems as though Ab-Soul may be a little disgruntled about the absence of a release date, for his up coming album. Just the other day Soul made his feelings public by taking to twitter, threatening to leak his album Black Lip Pastor in the form of a mixtape. This however did not sit well with Top Dawg Entertainment CEO, Anthony Tiffith. The chief executive officer responded the very next day, via twitter, daring Ab-Soul and any of his other artist to leak an album. While Top Dawg has every right to be upset at the idea of any member purposefully leaking an album, Soul is very justified in his frustrations. according to Soul, his album has been finished since the end of January. On top of that its been two years since he last release an album (Control System), which one underground album of the year. On top of that, Top Dawg himself tweeted back in December, that Black Lip Pastor was coming soon. Since then we projects form Isaiah Rashad, Schoolboy Q, and SZA have all been released. While Isaiah Rashad only release a demo, and Schoolboy Q's album was long over due as well, there is no reason that SZA should drop before Ab-Soul (especially considering the fact that SZA was still working on her album when Soul's was already finished). Now, timing is everything, but true music stands the test of time. This would be Ab-Soul's third LP, and his last to albums are timeless. It's fare to give Kendrick the top spot in TDE, but Soulo is a very close second. After all the consistency Soul Brother #2 has shown over the years, there is no way he should be shelved for this about of time. Just because you have LeBron James, doesn't mean you don't start Dwayne Wade. Lets just hope this little quarrel get resolved in a timely manor. All of us hip-hop-addicts have been suffering from a severe Soul withdraw.
