Dr. Dre The First Billionaire In Hip-Hop

It's crazy just to say out loud, "Dr. Dre is a billionaire." For those of you who haven't heard by now Apple has bout Beats By Dre for 3.2 billion dollars, with a "B." First off, hats off to Dre for solidifying the stability of his family for generations to come. Sources say that Dr. Dre is planned to make upwards of 800 million dollars off of the Apple acquisition, which would put his total net worth just over 1.3 billion dollars. People fail to realize the significance of all this, not just for hip-hop but for the black community as a whole. The billionaires club is undoubtedly the most influential, exclusive, and illustrious fraternity in the world. There are less than 1600 billionaires in the entire world. These are the people who by our politicians, own our television stations, our spots teams, our oil reserves, and our banks. out of the 1577 billionaires to be exact, there are only nine black billionaires. That means our of the 1600 most powerful people in the world, blacks account for less than .006%. When our voices cry out to the powers that be, they seem to always fall on deaf ears. And, who could blame them, when we're not even close to making up one percent of the most influential people in the world. Although, we have a long way to go, Dr. Dre has made history. Hopefully, with his newly found wealth, he makes a difference in this world. Dre has always been on the more elusive side. While, he does not give us a lot when it comes to his philosophies and opinions, when he does drop knowledge he shows that he cares. And, the best part of all this, Diddy and Jay Z are not to far behind him. With net worth's of roughly 700 and 550 million respectively, Puff and the Jigga man are sure to be in the billions before the end of the decade. These men will surely do everything in their power to make this world a better place, not just for hip-hop culture or black culture, but for everyone. With a billion dollars at hand, there isn't much that is not within your power, so lets keep this black power movement going until those nine black billionaires gets closer to 900.
