Jay Electronica Promises Debut Album Is Coming This Year

Jay Electronica is one of the most elusive figures in hip-hop, and when it comes to the releasing of new material, he is only rivaled by Dr. Dre. It has been five years since his last mixtape and seven years since the release of Act I: Eternal Sunshine (ThePledge). Besides than that he Jay E has only graced us with a handful of singles (most of which have been released in the last month). Finally, after half a decade as a Roc Nation artist, Jay Electronica has finally promised us the release of his debut album, entitled Act II: Patents Of Nobility. The Five Percenter got on his YouTube page to answer some questions about his impending LP. During the Q&A, Mr. Electtronica cleared up the cryptic tweet he sent out recently, reffering to July 12th. He was asked if the date was when the album released. "No sir.. promise you its coming this year, and I'm about to heat the game up and charge the particles so high..." The New Orleans native also addressed rumors that Jay Z and Roc Nation were holding the album back. "Its been me. Life ect. Jay and the label never press me about it, or hinder me. Full Support and love. I've just been away on my own accord. Again, we are in THE TURN." He also revealed the final tracklist for Act II will be sligtly different from the one that leaked in 2012.
