Wiz Khalifa Talks Blacc Hollywood

Most people don't know, but this will be Wiz Khalifa's fifth studio album, that he will release. Everyone knows the Pittsburgh native's third LP, Rolloing Papers back in 2011, which put him on the map going gold with singles like "Black & Yellow" and "Roll Up." His first two albums were released through Waner Bros. Records and didn't sell more than 50,000 units between the two. Wiz' last album, O.N.I.F.C. was not a commercial success, and other than the lead single "Work Hard, Play Hard," there weren't many hit on the album. It's been two years since than, and fresh off the release of his 28 Grams mixtape, Wiz is now gearing up for his next LP entitled "Blacc Hollywood." Amber Rose's hubby recently sat down with Vlad TV to discuss why it has taken him so long to release his next album. Alluding to some conflict with the label, Wiz spoke, "It had a lot to do with just getting the whole vision in order, and just making sure that when this came out, that it's really pushing me forward in my career and in my life."  In regards to the title of his upcoming album, Blacc Hollywood, Wiz says he had creatives and masterminds in mind when he came up with the title. He also revealed that he wanted to get the attention off of color by choosing the title Blacc Hollywood as opposed to Black Hollywood. "Just to get everybody to...Like all the real creative people and the masterminds behind the shit that people see. I just wanted to embrace their mind state and really have somebody telling them that their game plan is cool enough for the world. Cause I come from that whole underdog and that whole behind the scenes and then to the front scene era. So, I just want people to know that I got em, I'm holding it down. I wanted to get away from the color of it first of all, because a lot of people associate Black Hollywood with like the blaxplotation movies or just black actors in general. So, I just wanted to get away from the color and just more aiming towards an attitude and the more general purpose for everybody." The album is scheduled to be released August 19th.
