Trinidad James NY Comments Good For Hip Hop?

Trinidad James embodies everything that is wrong in hip hop. We all know you don't have to be lyrical to be a successful artist, but the man is just awful. I'm not knocking his obvious talent to create catchy ass hooks, however ratchet and ignorant they might be. But, Trinidad James himself admits he just started rapping in February of 2012. Anyone in this industry, let alone any rapper knows it takes years to not only to pay your dues but to perfect your craft and find your sound. The worst part about him is that he is an intelligent young black man that could do a lot of good for hip hop if he tried. I know there are those who say im hating and that Trinidad James portrays this extremely ghetto ignorant character as a joke, thinking that no one will take him seriously. However, that couldn't be father from the truth. Kendrick Lamar is a perfect example of an artist making fun of the streets, by rapping about them, while at the same time discouraging the populace. Trinidad James is the antithesis of Kendrick Lamar. Face it Trinidad James just wont last. However, his recent comments made in New York City regarding the south running New York music and most New York artists sounding like the south has set the hip hop world a blaze. I mean, even Hell Rell dusted off his shoes and got in the ring, creating a diss track featuring Katt Williams. These comments coupled with the lack of remorse and utterly unauthentic approach to the whole situation has literally black balled him from New York city. The exile isn't just physical, DJ Envy of Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club has went on record to say that he will no longer be playing anymore Trinidad James tracks. If this ripple affect can gain enough momentum to cyclone Trinidad James career down the drain, while simultaneously addressing the issue which was not far from the truth, (NY rap is a shell of what it use to be due to commercialism and imitation of the one hit wonders of the south) then maybe New York lyricism will emerge once again. I mean seriously French Montana titles his mixtapes macaroni and cheese or some dumb shit like that, and hoever popular the ASAP Mob is they just flat out can't rap. The only New York rappers who put out quality music, are the same ones who have been doing it for years (Jay Z, Fabolous, Styles P, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes etc etc). Hopefully New York takes this as a wake up call. They already let Kendrick get away with murder. Now its not just time for NY artists to step up but NY DJ s as well. Hip hop is going in a good direction right now, and with New York, the Mecca of rap, steering the wheel it's liable to go to a place none of us ever dreamed.

P.S. I'm not hating on the south and to show y'all here is a link to Slim Thug's new album Boss Life. Also, you will find a special treat you guys get for making it to the end of the blog. It is a video by the amazing D'Vina. To say this girl is talented would be an understatement. She has the most beautiful voice out of anyone I have ever met, and on top of all that she is very easy on the eyes so take a minute and check out her new video Far Away featuring Dave Watson
