For the better part of the last decade Kanye West has been the talk of the town. Most recently, he has gained even more notoriety with his animated interviews, drop dead gorgeous fiance, and a timeless album. While the Yeezus album was number one on Billboards top 200, it received a lot of criticism from commercial media. Although, it was Kanye West intention to shy away from the commercial success, the Yeezus album is a masterpiece. Lyrically, the only other artist to be on his level this year was J. Cole and his album Born Sinner, but production wise Yeezus takes the cake. Guess Ye' really is the Pac of product. Another criticism about the album was that it only contained ten tracks, even though they were ten perfect songs. But the almighty reducer/producer Rick Rubin said informed us shortly after Yeezus dropped that he gave Ye' the idea of turning Yeezus into, two albums. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Rubin talked about the initial proccess of working with Mr.West "Initially, he thought there were going to be 16 songs on the album. But that first day, before he even asked me to work on it, I said, ‘Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe this is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half,’ to which Kanye excitedly said, ‘That’s what I came here today to hear! It could be 10 songs!’". Yeezy, obviously ran with the plan of two albums, because the sequel to Yeezus, which is rumored to drop in the second quarter of next year, is said to consist of only eight tracks. Hopefully Ye' blesses his fans with at least ten more track; he did however promise to drop five songs in january which didnt make it on to Yeezus. With a bit of luck, these songs are separate from the sequel or at least added on to make a thirteen track LP. In a recent Surface Magazine’s Design Dialogues talk series, Kanye explained that his ambitions to be apart of the high-end design world as his reasoning for making both Yeezus and his upcoming album relatively short "It’s just reducing down the amount of information that you need. People say a design is the point where you can’t take anything else away. [Yeezus] was very, very designed. I took a departure from radio and popular music in order to get this seat here. If I hadn't made Yeezus, I wouldn't be sitting here with this cool font at Basel right here." No matter what, the sequel to Yeezus will undoubtedly be a better album all around, due to the simple fact he has had so much more time to work on it. Not to mention he hinted at more of a Dark Twisted Fantasy feel to his next project a couple weeks ago on The Breakfast Club. Kanye, Rick Rubin, and Q-Tip are all said to be executive producers. Lets Just say we'll all be waiting on the edge of our seats.
