Young Chris, if you are over the age of twenty-one than there is no way you have not listened to this man's music. Although, most may remember him as the better half of the Rocafella duo Young Gunz, Young Chris has undoubtedly been one of the illest emcees to rock the mic for the better part of the last decade, whether you've heard him or not. Of course, you all remember the hits "Cant Stop, Won't Stop" and "No Better Love", which Young Chris definitely out shine his rap counterpart. Some even say he is the infamous ghostwriter behind Jay Z's dope rhymes. Be it true or not, Young C's is the only rapper besides Kanye that Jay took with him from Rocafella. The Jigga-man obviously kept him around for something. Ever since his he embarked on his solo career, he has dropped dope mixtape after Dope mixtape. For some reason the powers that be will not let this man be great. If you were to put any of his songs he's dropped on the radio over the last eight years, Young Chris would be a household name in every developed country. From Kiladelphia to Young Chrismas to The Newprint to Last Man Standing to Now Or Never to The Networks One and Two, you can't name seven mixtapes better than these. On top of that, he signed with Rico Love's independent label Division 1 and dropped The Re-introduction at the end of 2010, which was more like an album that would've easily went gold. The popular mixtape even broke him out of the underground scene and back into mainstream with the video for the hit single Philly $h!t being being played on MTV Jams. From there it looked as though the Young Gunna was on his way to finally get the recognition he deserved, but instead the public did not receive another project from him until the end of 2011, in the form of another mixtape called The Revival. Although the revival was better than most music you here no of days it did not had the same feel or get the same reception as The Re-introduction, and Young Chris was shelved again. We are now at the dawn of 2014, and after a very unwanted hiatus his fans are gearing up for more. Two days ago he dropped an EP on iTunes entitled Vital Signs, and is said to be dropping a full LP in the first quarter of next year. From the sound of the Vital Signs EP Young C is back on his game, and if given the chance ready to tear up the game. Hopefully, with hip-hop's new found love for lyricism, this poetic lyrical assassin will take over the game.
P.S. Here is a link to the Vital Signs EP, along with some other leaks over the past few days. Also, check out Young Chris's latest video and other media appearances, and of course True Music's newest girl next door.
