Common's Coming With A New Album For 2014

More good news for hip-hop in 2014. The veteran MC Common Sense will be dropping a new album this year. The new LP titled "Nobody's Smiling" will be his first album since his 2011 release "The Dreamer/The Believer. This will be his 10th solo LP, and as we all know Common never disappoints. For the better part of the last two decades Com has made nothing but true hip-hop, while still maintaining a level of success that has been able to cross over to mainstream. Once again this album will be executive produced by the great No I.D.. It is clear from the last album that the two work well together.  The legendary lyrical Chi-town rapper's albums are always from a conscientious point of view, but this album in particular is call to action to stop the violence in his city, and inner cities across the world. Everyone with a television or a radio know of the violent conflict that Chicago's inner city has been stricken with over the past few years. Rappers like Chief Keef have done nothing but glorify the city, unofficially dubbed Chiraq. Common recently went spoke about the up coming album in an interview with on Diddy's Revolt TV. “I gotta say 2014 is going to be one of my greatest times in music. I feel excited about the project that I’m working on,” says Common. “Originally I was making an EP, but we’ve just been making a lot of songs.” “‘Nobody’s Smiling’ was really a thought that came about because of all the violence that was going on in Chicago,” adds Com. “We were talking about the conditions of what’s happening when I said ‘Nobody’s Smiling,’ but it’s really a call to action.” Common surprisingly gives props to the young Chicago rappers out there. “The younger artists, they’re really bringing what Chicago is about, and they have brought something new to Hip Hop,” says Common. Two weeks into the new year, and hip-hop in 2014 just keeps getting better and better. We can't wait to see what's next.
